Congratulations to Geology Department Professor Bruce Fouke for winning a pair of awards this week! Dr. Fouke was awarded the Whitman Fellowship to do cutting edge geobiological research at the Marine Biological Laboratory and the University of Chicago at Woods Hole and the Yellowstone Superintendent's International Award, which he will receive as part of a keynote lecture at the 15th Biennial Scientific Conference on the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem

Dr. Fouke is a world expert in geomicrobiology, coral formation, and carbonate systems. He currently directs the Carver Center for Biotechnology at the University of Illinois.
